INTRODUCTION
---
The agent for Oracle collects statistics on the Oracle database via an Oracle user usually called 'sysload'.
The password is written but crypted in the file 'connect.txt'.
The password for the user 'sysload' can be changed. Nevertheless there is then a procedure to follow on the Oracle agent.
PROCEDURE
---
- Stop the Sysload for Oracle programs:
. Collector for Oracle.
. DB Event.
- Change the password in the Oracle database.
- Backup the configuration file of the Sysload agent for Oracle ('sldord.ini').
- Run the configuration script/program as to declare new Oracle instances on the Sysload agent.
. Sections for each instance in the agent configuration file will be overwritten.
. Information in the file 'connect.txt' will be overwritten (with the new password).
- Update the agent configuration file in order to set some parameters back to their value as they are in the backup file.
. e.g. if the tablespace monitoring was set, set it back.
- Start the Sysload Oracle programs:
. Collector for Oracle.
. DB Event.
