Hello,
we working in a big environment $U Installations > 150. Due to some changes in the environment (Server goes out of Live etc). We have invalid Data in MU Table MU Directories APP Directories and so on. The Node was deleted from Node List but the correspondend Data in these Tables NOT.
Of course this a mistake of the process "how to delete a $U instance" in our house but now we have the mess. Is there a best practise to correct this ?
I dont mean a total clearance or to insert Node again and delete then. Perhaps someone wrote a tool for that ?
The effects of that "corrupted" Data can be various and very strange to like Jobs starting on a MU that were defenatly not in the definition of the session !!!!!! We tested that and after correcting that entrys all was fine again.
I am looking forward for the best parctise in huge $U Environment.
best regards

Hello,
In 5.3.3, you can use the binary uxvrfuni. Launch the command uxvrfuni with the Company and the Area (X will also consider Administration tables).
In 5.1.3, you may get some help through Publisher if you have it.

Hello,
if you have a mixed $U environment $U 5.13 and 5.33 can you use that comando on the 5.33 machine and distribute that tables to the 5.13 ?
I mean is there a compability between the admin tables ?

Hello,
There is 1 potential risk I see:
- Author codes for Users (they are alphanumerical in 5.3, only numerical before)
I am not too sure about Uproc Types also.

Thx for the Info Michel,
my idea was like this :
Our Reference System is a 5.13 Node.
All other Nodes should have the same Data but they have not due to local changings. These changes were done also on 5.13.
Now due to an emergency change we have a 5.33 also which is not our Reference System but the data is identical.
I want to start uxvrfuni on that 5.33 to have clean tables and then distribute all back to our reference Node.
best regards

Hello,
I checked with R&D but unfortunately - in our case - the uxvrfuni.exe is built dynamically so it cannot be used on a V513.
If you have the possibility to test your idea in a test a pre-production environment I would say go ahead, test it, and if it works fine, in your case, try it in production but naturally with all safety measures (tables backup on each node etc.).
If not, I believe you are left with a manual check in V513, and then distribute the tables from your V513 reference node to other V513 Nodes and V533 Nodes.
