Hi,

I seem to be unable to change the task type using motif interface.
Is there a reason behind that?
Changing using the uxupd tsk command works.

Thanks,
Julie

Hi Julie,

you probably have noticed that the Windows interface brings more functionalities than the Motif one in the latest Dollar Universe releases!

I guess there are 2 reasons behind this:

As far as I can remember, the Motif interface was initially built in the mid 90s - I started using it in 1997-1998 if memory serves) and has not fundamentally changed since, when the version of the Windows interface dates from ca. 2001 and has been regularly improved over the years (cf xml files, alerts...).

Due to the ermergence of new technologies (Web / Java based), Motif has lost ground. I guess Orsyp maintains it but probably does not feel like spending too much energy on it. You may have heard that the oncoming release of UniViewer (v2.0) allows access to all functions of Dollar Universe and is meant to become the universal UI to all Orsyp products.

You have already found a WA: Using the command mode - or a Windows console.

Kenny
