Hello,

i want to make some tests with the new online purge. We have V5.3.3 UNIX, FX24584 is installed. Parameter U_IO_PURGE_ENABLE is set to Y in the uxsetenv files.
I try the command ./chkPurParFic ../exp/data/u_purge_param.ref --> syntax of purge parameters file OK ;)
The next command: ./loadPurParFic xxx50 X xxxp15, i get an error -> request to load purge parameters file in error [804396636]
What have I done wrong?

thanks
Thomas

Hello Thomas,

can you post the content of the u_purge_param.ref file?

Hello Thomas,

the settings in the file seem correct. I tried to force the load of my purge reference file but got a similar error message:

request to load purge parameters file in error [34]

I will check with Orsyp teams if you and I have missed something or what and will get back to you.

Michel

PS: the good thing is that the new settings will be updated at the end of the update cycle (1 day) so they'll get updated in the end!

Hello,

I checked with Dollar Access technical support team, we could reproduce the issue on one of their test boxes. I opened an incident to have this fixed - though as already mentioned, the good thing is that the new settings will be updated at the end of the update cycle (1 day) so they'll get updated in the end!

Hello Thomas,

thanks for the information!

However, we reproduced the problem on Windows, so it still needs some attention from Orsyp Maintenance team.

Have a nice day,

Michel

Hello,

I finally had some time to work on this one B)

Guess what! In the reproduction test, the variable U_IO_PURGE_ENABLE was missing in one of the files! So now that it has been added, all is working fine also on Windows. ;)

Case solved! :)

Hello Michel,

i have an answer (the last B) )

i have these lines for the dynamic purge:

"#On the fly purge
U_DYNAMIC_PURGE=Y
export U_DYNAMIC_PURGE
U_RETENTION_DELAY="001:00:00"
export U_RETENTION_DELAY
U_RETENTION_DELAY_COMPLETED="001:00:00"
export U_RETENTION_DELAY_COMPLETED
U_RETENTION_DELAY_ABORTED="003:00:00"
export U_RETENTION_DELAY_ABORTED
U_RETENTION_DELAY_REFUSED="003:00:00"
export U_RETENTION_DELAY_REFUSED
U_RETENTION_DELAY_TIME_OVERRUN="003:00:00"
export U_RETENTION_DELAY_TIME_OVERRUN
U_RETENTION_DELAY_SUSPENDED="003:00:00"
export U_RETENTION_DELAY_SUSPENDED"

for the other purge following lines:

" U_IO_PURGE_ENABLE=Y
export U_IO_PURGE_ENABLE"

u_purge_param.ref:

"PUR_DYN=Y
PUR_FREEZE=N
PUR_LOG=F
PUR_HHMM=--:--
PUR_CYC=000:06:00
CHK_FIC=001:00:00
#
HST_RET_DEF=007:00:00
HST_RET_A=007:00:00
HST_RET_D=007:00:00
HST_RET_E=007:00:00
HST_RET_F=007:00:00
HST_RET_I=007:00:00
HST_RET_O=007:00:00
HST_RET_R=007:00:00
HST_RET_T=007:00:00
HST_RET_W=007:00:00....."

now my problem ;)

i think (i know) the lines of the old purge does not work anymore (the jobs will be delete after 7 days).
can i delete these lines or must i change a parameter in the ref file?
in the case of delete should be "LAN_RET_DEF" the definitons for the old dynamic purge?

Thanks!

Thomas

Hello Thomas,

once the new purge on line has been activated, the old one is ignored - as you did notice.

To avoid any question/doubt, we would recommend to comment - or delete - the variable definitions of the old purge on the fly in the various files where they are set.

So you should have:

"#On the fly purge
#U_DYNAMIC_PURGE=Y
#export U_DYNAMIC_PURGE
#U_RETENTION_DELAY="001:00:00"
#export U_RETENTION_DELAY
#U_RETENTION_DELAY_COMPLETED="001:00:00"
#export U_RETENTION_DELAY_COMPLETED
#U_RETENTION_DELAY_ABORTED="003:00:00"
#export U_RETENTION_DELAY_ABORTED
#U_RETENTION_DELAY_REFUSED="003:00:00"
#export U_RETENTION_DELAY_REFUSED
#U_RETENTION_DELAY_TIME_OVERRUN="003:00:00"
#export U_RETENTION_DELAY_TIME_OVERRUN
#U_RETENTION_DELAY_SUSPENDED="003:00:00"
#export U_RETENTION_DELAY_SUSPENDED"

and

U_IO_PURGE_ENABLE=Y
export U_IO_PURGE_ENABLE

and the u_purge_param.ref as it is.

Hope this clarifies things.

Michel
